Join us at the May meeting for Tonya’s presentation ‘The Underwater Photographer’ that will consist of an overview of the equipment of underwater photography; how she goes about planning an underwater shoot; special considerations of underwater photography such as lighting, lens choice, and camera settings; and the role of post-processing to make the most of underwater images.
Tanya Houppermans is a professional un- derwater photographer, marine conserva- tionist, and writer. She recently received two 1st Place Awards in the categories of ‘Sharks’ and ‘Wrecks of the World’ in the 2015 Underwater Photography World Shootout, and was the only photographer from the United States to place in either category. Tanya especially enjoys photo- graphing sharks, and is involved in several shark conservation efforts. She is also an advocate for adaptive scuba programs for those with disabilities, as her own son is a certified scuba diver who has autism.
